So proud

On the last "Challenge" day (read: gifted class), Abby had two tests.  They've been studying Medieval Times and had one test on history and another on vocabulary.  My super-organized girl (HA!) wasn't sure exactly what to study, but we did our best.  (I helped her make a graphic organizer/ foldable of the vocab and she said "you're good at this".  LOL  Yep, that's my job.  Ha!)  Anyway, she got the score today and one was a 100% (there were five questions and she got them all right).  The other was a little longer and more complicated, and was scored on a standards-based rubric.  She scored a 4!!  (The scale is 1-3. 3 being mastery... 4 means above and beyond expectation!)

SO PROUD OF MY GIRL!!!

Sleepovers & Reading Levels

Abby attended her first "real sleepover" this weekend.  She said that it wasn't the best party ever.  ;)  Sleepovers were never my favorite either- and while I attended and enjoyed for the most part- I know I always came home with a "sleepover hangover" - a grouchy, poor attitude- just like she did.  I think she'll be ok.  ;)

In other news, she took the "Star Reading Test" last week- and scored a 9.3... Meaning she reads at the level of a ninth grader in the third month of school.  ACK!  We've met with her teacher and the media specialist about finding appropriate books.  Friends of mine have had great suggestions, as well.  :)  She never ceases to amaze me!
